Grandspire University’s Faculty of Media & Communication has taken a significant leap forward in creative education with the grand opening of its state-of-the-art Media Production Studio. This facility is designed to give students hands-on experience with professional-grade equipment and industry-standard workflows in broadcasting, filmmaking, and digital content creation.
The launch event, attended by university leadership, faculty, students, and industry guests, showcased the studio’s capabilities, including live broadcasting demonstrations, short film screenings, and interactive media workshops.
Inside the Studio
- Broadcast Control Room with multi-camera switching, live streaming capabilities, and sound mixing equipment.
- Green Screen Room for virtual production and creative visual effects.
- Podcasting Suites with soundproofing and high-fidelity microphones.
- Digital Editing Labs equipped with the latest video editing, animation, and post-production software.
“Our goal is to prepare students not just to enter the media industry, but to lead it,” said Prof. Daniel Hughes, Head of the Media & Communication Department.
Academic Integration
Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts in Media & Communication will now have required studio lab hours each semester. Coursework will include producing live news broadcasts, creating documentary films, and managing social media campaigns for real clients.
Industry Partnerships
Grandspire has secured agreements with major media houses and streaming platforms for student internships, collaborative projects, and content distribution opportunities.
“With facilities like these, students will graduate with portfolios that are industry-ready from day one,” Prof. Hughes added.
Community Access
The studio will also be open to local creatives, independent filmmakers, and non-profit organizations for special projects, strengthening Grandspire’s role as a cultural hub.
